200 Years for Accessible Trains

It is an outrage that it will take more than two centuries for all of our train stations to be made accessible.Less than 20% of our stations have step-free access and the number of fully accessible stations has increased by a mere 2% over the last four years - meaning it would take until 2218 for all stations to be brought up to the same standard.

This shows the lack of priority it is for the Government to people with disabilities have equal access to opportunities. Public transport must be available for all members of the public, and I urge the government to take action by reversing the cuts to the ‘Access For All’ scheme so that this problem can be solved at a much faster pace.
