Expansion of free bus travel in England

The Government has made changes to the concessionary bus pass scheme in England which start on 1 April 2008.

The new scheme means pass holders will be able to travel for free on bus services throughout the whole of England on buses after 9:30am Monday to Friday and all day at weekends and on Public holidays. Half fare travel will be available before 9:30am Monday to Friday.

Existing pass holders will automatically be issued with new passes in March 2008. The current free travel scheme will continue to operate until 31st March 2008.
