EU Referendum: Vernon strongly supports an "In" vote

Following last week's news that the EU Referendum will take place on 23rd June 2016, Vernon would like to officially announce that he is strongly supporting an "In" vote for the UK to remain a member of the European Union. Vernon calls in on Stanhope Primary School, Westdale Pre School and Carlton Central Junior School

Vernon has been busy with school visits today, starting this morning with an excellent tour around Stanhope Primary School's new pre school buildings. Vernon enjoyed discussing future plans for the school with Head Teacher Andrew Marriott and was really pleased to be greeted by Year 6 School Council pupils upon his arrival. Yesterday evening, Vernon was glad to attend the East Midlands Labour Party annual Pie & Pea Quiz at Arnold Hill Community Centre (image below courtesy of Toby Perkins MP). The Conference is organised annually by the Association of Labour Councillors (ALC) and the Local Government Association (LGA) Labour Group. Vernon visits Faith Marriott Nature Reserve

This morning, Vernon thoroughly enjoyed his tour of Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust's (NWT) Faith Marriott Nature Reserve, tucked into the heart of the Arnold community (pictured below). The 'secret garden' was kindly left to NWT in 1999 as part of the legacy of local resident Faith Marriott. Ms Marriott also donated the neighbouring house, which was subsequently sold to fund NWT's conservation work.                         Continue reading
