I had a wonderful time yesterday, Tuesday 11th April, at The British Lung Foundation’s latest launch of Breathe Easy, which is a fantastic platform of information and support for people with lung disease and respiratory problems. 1 in 5 people in the UK are affected by lung disease, and the BLF are the only UK charity working to support those affected.
With approximately 10,000 people being diagnosed with a lung problem in the UK each week, this is an ongoing challenge. With an NHS that is in crisis, and a government who are not working to solve the problems long-term, it is imperative to have charities working hard to lighten the strain on our health resources.
The new self help support group, called Breathe Easy Gedling will be folllowing in the footsteps of other successful groups across Nottinghamshire, working with local services to support wellbeing and self-management of respiratory illness through sharing experience with others and learning from experts.
The meetings are to be held between 1-3pm, on the second Tuesday of every month. If you would like to find out more information on how to get involved with the meetings, donate, or find out information about the charity itself, visit the BLF website www.blf.org.uk and make sure to take their new Breath Test too! - http://breathtest.blf.org.uk/
