County Council threaten privatisation of Care Homes

The Tory County Council is currently consulting on plans to privatise local care homes. Leivers Court in Arnold and Braywood Gardens in Carlton are two of the care homes included in these proposals.

Vernon visited both care homes recently to speak to residents, staff and relatives about their concerns and to promise support to fight the County Council's proposals.

Vernon said: "I will do all I can to support the wishes of all those concerned to prevent the privitisation. Nothing must be done to threaten the excellent quality of care provided and lets not forget the day centres as well."
