I have been the Member of Parliament for Gedling since 1997.

The Gedling constituency includes Arnold, Burton Joyce, Carlton, Colwick, Daybrook, Gedling, Mapperley, Netherfield, Stoke Bardolph and Woodthorpe.

I would like to thank the residents of Gedling for returning me as their MP in the recent election. It is a great privilege to continue to represent Gedling and I will continue to work hard for my constituents.

Forest in the City!

On Friday 12th February Vernon met with Graham Moran, Community Director at Nottingham Forest Football Club to speak about the work they do in the local community. Forest in the City aims to involve and inspire the local community through various local projects.

Forest in the City runs a project in Vernon's constituency called 'Gedling Goals'. This project uses football as an intervention to support the reduction in anti-social behaviour and to promote the participation of young people in positive healthy activities across Gedling Borough.

The project's format is based on the successful model of the nationally acclaimed 'Kickz' programme which offers young people activities which they help to develop and from which a range of positive outcomes have been achieved.
