It is fantastic to hear that the Government have finally been brought down when it comes to the NHS pay cap. It is a victory for our NHS service and all of us who have campaigned to end this healthcare crisis, and a step in the right direction.
There is still a huge amount to be done. Largely due to this pay cap, we are 10,000 GPs, 3,500 midwives and now 40,000 nurses short of the number we need. We must work to ensure that wages are fair for public sector workers and other taxpayers, and they will help ensure we have a workforce that can deliver the world class public services that society relies on.
