During Labour Conference 2014 in Manchester, Vernon spoke to campaigners at the Prostate Cancer UK stand.

Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer among men in the UK, with around 40,000 men being diagnosed every year, more needs to done to raise awareness of this condition and to improve treatment and support.

Prostate Cancer UK’s latest report, ‘Men United v Prostate Cancer: Five Inequalities, Five Solutions’, also highlights some alarming problems and inequalities that persist in the treatment, detection and awareness of prostate cancer in different parts of the country and among different age and ethnic groups.

Vernon hopes that the Government listen carefully and respond to this report and work with organisations such as Prostate Cancer UK to help improve awareness, treatment and support.
