Working hard for you

Rock the House is a Parliamentary live music and venue competition founded by Mike Weatherley MP. This year the prizes are much bigger and the competition even counts rock legends Alice Cooper, Ian Gillan, (both seen on the right), Matt Tuck and more as its Patrons with many more exciting artists to be announced.
The competition celebrates the very best of up-and-coming unsigned British artists and the live music venues that support them. The aim of the competition is to raise the political profile of the importance of intellectual property rights, and live music, among parliamentarians. The UK Music industry is hugely important in terms of employment and overseas earnings. This must be encouraged and protection of Copyright is essential to the ongoing ability to pay artists for the work they create. See how the competition went last year here.
Founder, Mike Weatherley MP, said: "The UK has a world-leading music and creative industry and this competition aims to celevrate the very best up and coming artists; and to raise the profile of intellectual propety rights among politicians. I urge all unsigned musicians to fill in an application form and send a copy of their music to their MP."
Every single MP is invited to nominate a solo-artist, a band, an under-18s act and the best small live music venue from their constituency. A panel of international music industry experts and musicians will determine the finalists who will compete in a live battle of the bands on Wednesday 30th May with the winners in each artist's category playing a live set on the Terrace of the House of Commons in the evening at the finale reception and winning all those once in a life time prizes!
Seen to the upper left is Anthrax's Rob Caggiano and Charlie Simpson to the right who are both Patrons to Rock The House.
Bullet For My Valentine's Matt Tuck (left) quotes. "I am totally in support of the Rock The House campaign and had an amazing time at Parliament. I'm extremely happy to be involved".
MARCH 16TH is the application deadline in which you will need to have your application submitted to your Vernon (or your local constituency MP) by. April 30th is then the deadline for Vernon to announce which act will be representing the constituency of Gedling. A panel of industry professionals will then filter down the acts to reveal which ones will be competing in the battle of the bands infront of a very impressive judging panel to have the chance to win all those amazing prizes along with performing at the House of Commons.
