Vernon Coaker MP

I’m the Labour Member of Parliament for Gedling. I am also the Minister of State for policing, security and crime.

The Borough of Gedling includes the towns of Arnold and Carlton and the surrounding parishes. It borders Sherwood Forest to the north, the River Trent to the southeast and the City of Nottingham to the southwest.

The wards covered in my constituency are Bonington, Burton Joyce, Carlton, Carlton Hill, Daybrook, Gedling, Kingswell, Killisick, part of Lambley, Mapperley Plains, Netherfield, Phoenix, Porchester, St James,Valley, St Mary’s, Stoke Bardolph and Woodthorpe.

Vernon met with the Scouts

Vernon met with the Scouts at the Labour Party Conference

Vernon attended a Scouts event at the Labour Party Conference to discuss various issues with the young people including how to encourage young people to be more active and what else the Government could do to support young people in Britain.

Vernon said: "I think uniformed organisations are extremely important and I will always do as much as I can to support them. The young people I met were a credit to society."
