Vernon will tomorrow be a judge in a junior entrepreneur competition along the lines of ‘Dragon’s Den’.
Carlton le Willows Academy have got together with PDW Consultancy in Colwick to run an entrepreneurs competition for years 7-13. From an initial 50 entries in September, these were whittled down to 20 in November and now the final 7 will be judged in the final, being held tomorrow (Friday 22nd March) at PDW Consultancy’s offices.
Entries have come from individuals and pairs with ideas ranging from a music festival and youth club, to an app comparing city sports teams across the UK, and an automatic butter-spreading device.
The first prize is £500 and each finalist will attend PDW’s office tomorrow morning and do up to a half hour presentation on their idea, with questions from the judging panel which will include Vernon Coaker MP.
Vernon Coaker said: “What a fantastic challenge for the students at Carlton le Willows Academy. I am very excited about taking part in the judging, although I suspect it will be very difficult to pick a winner.”
