I have been the Member of Parliament for Gedling since 1997.

The Gedling constituency includes Arnold, Burton Joyce, Carlton, Colwick, Daybrook, Gedling, Mapperley, Netherfield, Stoke Bardolph and Woodthorpe.

I would like to thank the residents of Gedling for returning me as their MP in the recent election. It is a great privilege to continue to represent Gedling and I will continue to work hard for my constituents.

Vernon opens new Skills Centre

On Friday 22nd January Vernon officially opened the new Skills Centre which has been set up by Gordan Herbert and Andrew Flook. The centre offers training within the energy sector - gas installers and those working in the electrical industry, and also covers renewable energy such as solar heating, ground and air source heat pumps and rainwater harvesting.

Vernon said: "I was delighted to launch this project for Gordan and Andrew. the Centre offers high quality training and will continue to be a valuable resource into the future, with training in renewable sources of energy being of particular interest."
