Vernon calls in on Stanhope Primary School, Westdale Pre School and Carlton Central Junior School

Vernon has been busy with school visits today, starting this morning with an excellent tour around Stanhope Primary School's new pre school buildings. Vernon enjoyed discussing future plans for the school with Head Teacher Andrew Marriott and was really pleased to be greeted by Year 6 School Council pupils upon his arrival. The school's notice board is pictured below.

Vernon's next stop was to present a celebration cake to the wonderful staff at Westdale Pre School, which has just been rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted (see below). He passed on his congratulations to the staff on their amazing achievement and was thrilled to see such a happy and caring team working together under the guidance of Manager Wendy Reilly. You can read the Nottingham Post's report on Vernon's visit here.

Vernon's final school visit of the day was to Carlton Central Junior School, where he was invited to speak to the School Council about our democracy. The pupils asked some excellent questions and Vernon was really pleased to hear about their plans for improving the school (see below).
