Vernon meets Phoenix Parliament!

This morning, Vernon was very pleased to award badges to the newly elected "MPs" at Phoenix Infant and Nursery School in Gedling. Children across the school voted for classmates to represent them on the 'Phoenix Parliament'. Over 30 children were elected to work with their Head teacher, Mrs Harper, on improving the school in a number of different areas.

Vernon is pictured above with the new MPs, awarding their badges and answering some of their very intelligent questions. He was especially impressed to learn that the 4, 5 and 6 year old pupils knew what democracy was and why it was so important!

Vernon sends his best wishes to Mrs Harper, the Phoenix Parliament MPs and the rest of the staff and children at the school with their new project. He is sure that the MPs will be brilliant representatives and work hard to make the school an even better place to learn and play.
