Vernon supports votes for 16 year olds in the EU referendum

Yesterday, Vernon voted in the House of Commons to reduce the voting age for the EU referendum to 16. Unfortunately the vote was struck down, with 310 MPs voting to ban the reduction in voting age.

However, the bill will continue through the parliamentary process and there is still the possibility of people aged 16+ being able to vote in the referendum.

Vernon has long supported voting rights for 16 and 17 year olds and his votes in Parliament will continue to reflect this.
