Vernon visits Gedling Memory Cafe

This morning Vernon was pleased to visit the Gedling Memory Café, a friendly and informal gathering of dementia patients and carers in Gedling. The cafés  are run by Alzheimer's Society whose staff are on hand to give practical information and emotional support, encouraging patients and carers to talk openly about living with dementia.

The cafés are usually held on the fourth Friday of the month at the Good Shepherd Church on Thackeray's Lane in Gedling. Today's café included activities such as tenpin bowling - Vernon is pictured above "on the lanes" with café guest Betty and trying his best to get a strike!

Alzheimer's Society supports people to live well with dementia today and funds research to find a cure tomorrow. To find out more about the incredible work that Alzheimer's Society does click here.
