Visits to Big Wood School and Stanhope Primary School

Big Wood School

Vernon visited Big Wood School to see the new building which is now fully open. The new school is fantastic with state of the art facilities including a flood-lit multi-use games area and construction area.

The school was built through the Building Schools for the Future programme introduced under the Labour Government. Unfortunately the coalition Government have decided to scrap this scheme which will be a major disappointed to many schools in the UK.

Stanhope Primary School

On Friday 18th June Vernon also visited Stanhope Primary School for their Enterprise Week. Students from Nottingham Trent University's business department had spent the week with children helping them design and make products to sell at the fair on Friday. The children made some great items including T-Shirts and bags.
