I am currently in the Labour packed Westminster Hall Debate for WASPI to challenge the unfair state pension changes for women born on or after the 6th of April, 1951.
The Government has failed to properly inform many women of the changes in their pension plans, which will leave many women in extremely sudden and difficult financial situations, with women losing as much as £45,000.
There was outcry in the house when the Minister suggested that the Government had done their part for these women, and that they could take up apprenticeships! It is an outrage to suggest this as a solution.
As people live longer, the retirement age must increase, but it must increase at a rate that is steady and fair.
