Following the election celebration party on Friday 7th July, I spent the weekend attending various summer events around Gedling.
On Saturday I started my day by going to meet with people in Arnold, before heading to both the Killisick Community Fun Day, and the All Hallows Summer Fair in Gedling. It was great to attend both of these events and see communities come together to celebrate the spirit of summer.
Later that day I attended a wonderful Strawberry Tea in order to raise funds for the Tanzanian Clinic Fund. Yet another fantastic event run by Elaine and Phil Barlow to support projects in developing countries.
On Sunday the tea continued, as I attended The Vintage Tea Party, hosted by the Mayor of Gedling in order to support Motor Neuron disease. It was a great day full of cake auctions, a cake quiz, some lively dancing, and a beautiful array of cakes and traditional china.
Thank you to everyone involved in organising these events, which were great opportunities for our communities to come together, and celebrate the summer in a truly British style.
